it-sa 2018: WatchGuard framework aims to make Wi-Fi securely scalable

Vendor renews call for Wi-Fi industry players to join forces and find way to ensure that wireless services have security built-in as a primary feature at IT security expo.

Ryan Orsi Director WatchGuard TechnologiesWatchGuard Technologies is exhibiting at it-sa 2018 this week with what it calls a ‘Trusted Wireless Environment’ framework, that’s designed to enable businesses and solution providers to build Wi-Fi services that offer high performance, scalable management and verified, comprehensive security.

“Wi-Fi networks serve as low-hanging fruit for cyber criminals,” says Ryan Orsi, Director of Product Management at WatchGuard (pictured), “primarily because vendors and businesses alike have made the mistake of looking at Wi-Fi security capabilities as an added benefit, rather than a primary feature. We’re advocating that businesses of every size – and even competing vendors – examine our framework for what it takes to build and operate a Trusted Wireless Environment.”
